Description
Solicitation No. Q1450100010Amendment No. 0001January 25, 2010 Project Title: Road Base Material - Gray, Golden Spike National Historic Site. Receipt of Offers: The hour and date for receipt of offers remains unchanged at 2:00 pm local time on January 29, 2010. Description of Changes: This amendment provides information in response to the following written request provided by an interested individual:1. Comment was "What specific type of road base material is required for this job?"Response - "As stated in the Combined Synopsis / Solicitation the material must be gray in color to match the cultural scene. All parties submitting offers for road base material must provide material that has been approved by the Golden Spike National Historic Site." Also, please add the following requirements to the solicitation of the road base material as follows:"701.02.6 Crushed Top Surfacing Type "A" Furnish crushed top surfacing Type "A", including added binder or blending material, meeting Grade 3 or Grade 2 of Table 701-10 gradation requirements. Dust Ratio: the portion passing the No. 200 sieve cannot exceed two-thirds of the portion passing the No. 40 sieve; 2. The maximum liquid limit and plasticity index for the material passing the No. 40 sieve is 25 and 6 respectively; 3. The composite aggregate does not contain adherent films of clay and other matter that prevents thorough coating with bituminous material. Bituminous material must remain adhered to the material upon contact with water; 4. When the aggregate is to be bituminized, both the material source and the composite aggregate must have a volume swell not exceeding 10 percent, and not show cracking or disintegration; 5. Do not remove intermediate sizes from the material during production, unless authorized in writing; 6. Have a wear factor not exceeding 50 percent at 500 revolutions; and 7. At least 35 percent by weight of the aggregate retained on the No. 4 sieve must have at least one mechanically-fractured face." Offers must acknowledge receipt of this amendment prior to the hour and date specified in the solicitation or as amended by one of the following methods:a) Signing and dating this amendment and returning with offer;b) By acknowledging receipt of this amendment on each copy of the offer submitted; orc) By separate letter or telegram which includes a reference to the solicitation and amendment numbers.FAILURE OF YOUR ACKNOWLEDGEMENT TO BE RECEIVED AT THE PLACE DESIGNATED FOR THE RECEIPT OFFERS PRIOR TO THE HOUR AND DATE SPECIFIED MAY RESULT IN REJECTION OF YOUR OFFER.If by virtue of the amendment you desire to change an offer already submitted, such change may be made by telegram or letter, provided each telegram or letter makes reference to the solicitation and this amendment, and is received prior to the opening hour and date specified.
