- Questions Submitted: Date: 1/18/10 Time: 8:56 p.m. Question 1. The solicitation specifies two control console cabinets for the eight channel 450 kV flash x-ray system. Will one control console cabinet be acceptable providing that it conveniently contains all required system equipment? Answer 1. Yes Question 2. We have a well established standard 450 kV flash x-ray system that uses gas pressures from 0 to 80 psig. Will this be acceptable? Answer 2. Yes Question 3. We assume that all weights and system component dimensions listed are maximums and that smaller, lighter equipment will be acceptable. Is this correct? Answer 3. Yes Question 4. The solicitation specifies pulsers with 450 kV maximum operating voltage and 18 stage Marx generators. We have a well established standard 450 kV flash x-ray system that uses 30 Marx generator stages in 15 modules to achieve a 450 kV maximum operating voltage. Is this acceptable? Answer 4. 18-stages were requested based on commercially available size, which is 880 mm width X 1190 mm height, including a wheeled stand. A 30-stage configuration is acceptable if it meets the size requirement. Question 5. The solicitation specifies two power distribution units. If we can deliver a system that requires only one power distribution unit, will this be acceptable? If two units are required, please clarify the purpose of having two separate power distribution units? Answer 5.Yes Question 6. The solicitation specifies that the Software shall provide for full remote control of all settings of the systems operational parameters. Does this include remote control of all system gas pressures? Answer 6. Yes Question 7. In Item 0001, the solicitation describes 10 meter control console to pulser cables and 5 meter high voltage cables from the pulser to the x-ray tube. The system description calls for both sets of cables to be 25 meters in length. It is assumed that Item 0003 and Item 0004 are additional length cable to accomplish the 25 meter cables. Is this correct? In addition, does Item 0004 also provide for additional cable to make Item 0005 a 25 meter cable? Answer 7. Yes and yes Question 8. The system description specifies an insulating gas of SF6 or Freon 12. Is air or nitrogen also acceptable? Answer 8.Yes Question 9. Attached is our draft of a compliance matrix based on our understanding of the required acceptance criteria in the subject solicitation. Does full compliance with this matrix constitute Technical Acceptability as referred to in the Evaluation Criteria described in this solicitation? Answer 9.Technical acceptability is based on the technical description provided- as well as the compliance matrix.
