Description
MOX Services is seeking suppliers of Pressure Control Devices (PCDs) to be installed on primary confinement glove boxes in the U.S. MOX Fuel Fabrication Facility (MFFF). PCDs are part of the Very High Depressurization (VHD) Exhaust System. A description of the PCDs to be supplied is below. The required operating parameters are listed below each description. The working temperature range is between 40oF and 110oF. • Glove Box Pressure Differential Control Valves (PDCV): Mechanical valve located in a glove box's normal exhaust line that modulates position automatically to regulate differential pressure inside the process glove box. This valve compensates for small or moderate changes in operating parameters that can affect glove box operating differential pressure. o Operating Parameters: -Estimated Quantity: 105 -Flow Rate: 25 CFM -Operating Pressure: -1.4 to 4.0 -Opening Pressure: N/A • Emergency Exhaust Valves (ATV): Mechanical valve that opens automatically on low differential pressure in a process glove box to provide additional or alternate ventilation exhaust flow from the glove box. ATV acts to mitigate over-pressure events by ensuring the glove box does not exceed its design pressure limit. o Operating Parameters: -Estimated Quantity: 404 -Flow Rate: 60 CFM -Operating Pressure: -1.4 to 4.0 -Opening Pressure: -0.32 to -0.4 (Varies based on location of device) • Gas Pressure Relief Valves (PRV): Mechanical valve located in a glove box supply line that opens automatically to relieve supply gas over-pressure to the glove box main exhaust header. o Operating Parameters: -Estimated Quantity: 102 -Flow Rate: 60 CFM -Operating Pressure: 0.0 to 2.0 -Opening Pressure: 0.5 • Vacuum Breakers (PSV): Mechanical valve located in a glove box supply line that opens automatically to allow room air to enter a process glove box during an under pressure event in the glove box. The vacuum breaker acts to mitigate the event by ensuring the glove box does not exceed it s design pressure differential limit. o Operating Parameters: -Estimated Quantity: • A) 209 • B) 9 -Flow Rate: 60 CFM (Both) -Operating Pressure: -4.0 to 0.0 (Both) -Opening Pressure: • A) -4.0 • B) -1.3 • Relief Breaker (PSX): Mechanical device connected to each glove box that has the potential for an under-pressure event in excess of the vacuum breaker capacity. o Operating Parameters: -Estimated Quantity: • A) 9 • B) 8 -Flow Rate: • A)160 CFM • B) 230 CFM -Operating Pressure: -4.0 to 0.0 (Both) -Opening Pressure: -4.0 (Both) • Normal Exhaust Flow Gage (FG): Mechanical device that provides a visual indication of the presence, direction and speed of gas flow in glove box ventilation exhaust lines. o Operating Conditions: -Estimated Quantity: • A) 206 • B) 5 • C) 2 -Flow Rate: • A) 25 CFM • B) 120 CFM • C) 105 CFM -Operating Pressure: -4.0 to 0.0 (All Three) -Opening Pressure: N/A (All Three) Supplier must have a Quality Assurance (QA) program, preferably an NQA-1 program; other QA programs will be evaluated by MOX Services for acceptability for the scope of supply identified above. Interested suppliers shall provide technical information in the form of cut sheets or other documents that contain the following information: design flow rate, operating pressure ranges, nozzle size, end connections, and body material. The supplier must submit QA manual/procedure.
