- Drawings-10 Drawings-9 Drawings-8 Drawings-7 Drawings-6 Drawings-5 Drawings-4 Drawings-3 Drawings-2 Drawings-1 This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for a vendor to provide an evaluation of the National Data Buoy Center (NDBC) existing DART pressure sensor housing design and provide a recommendation on how to improve housing design to prevent water intrusion. NDBC has documented incidents of o-ring extrusion failure in the Pressure Sensor assembly, a critical component of the Tsunami Warning System network. NDBC is seeking evaluation and recommendations from organizations with extensive background in the design and fabrication of deep ocean equipment housings. The tasks requested are as follows: 1. Review existing NDBC drawings of the Pressure Sensor assembly 2. Review NTSC reports on issues with the assembly (o-ring and spotface) 3. Provide your assessment of the recommendations from the NTSC reports 4. Provide your recommendations on improving the housing design. This combined synopsis/solicitation is in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation Subpart 12.6 and 13.5, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. This announcement is a Request for Quote. The reference number is NWWG9502-10-05001 and incorporates provisions and clauses in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular FAC 2005-33. The National Data Buoy Center intends to award a single firm fixed price purchase order (level of effort with a not to exceed amount). The drawings are attached to this notice and should be used to prepare your quote.
