Description
The Department of Veterans Affairs, VA Medical Center, Asheville, NC, intends to procure on a sole source basis with Frontier Building Systems, Inc., 213 Alapaha Hwy, Ocilla, GA 31774, a follow on contract for lease of a 3,192 square foot modular building located on the premises of the Asheville VA Medical Center. The resulting contract will be a one (1) year lease. It is considered to be in the best interest of the Government to continue the lease of the existing building. Lease of the existing building will reduce costs by eliminating costs for removal of the building, moving expenses for tenants, and procurement and installation of another temporary facility. The proposed contract action is for supplies or services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, the Government will consider all proposals received by Monday, January 18, 2010 at 12:00pm EST. The Government will not be responsible for any cost incurred in preparation of proposals. A determination by the Government not to compete with this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. All responsible sources may submit a proposal, which will be considered by the agency. Contractors submitting any proposal to the Government must have a Commercial and Government Entity Code (CAGE Code) and be registered in the Central Contractors Registration (CCR) at http://www.ccr.gov/. The Asheville VA Medical Center intends to award a sole source contract three (3) business days after publication of this notice. Contracting POC is Heather Hampton who can be reached via email at: heather.hampton@va.gov.
