- Description
- RECOVERY PER FAR 5.7, THIS NOTICE IS PROVIDED FOR INFORMATIONAL PURPOSES ONLY; THERFORE FAR 5.203 DOES NOT APPLY. THIS OPPORTUNITY IS AVAILABLE ONLY TO CONTRACTOR UNDER THE CURRENT CONTRACT NUMBER: Aerostar Environmental Services Inc., W91278-07-D-0072. The Mobile District, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is placing a task order against Contract No. W91278-07-D-0072, Aerostar Environmental Services Inc., Which has already been competed and awarded as an Architect/Engineer Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity Contract. The contractor shall conduct two geophysical investigations to characterize groundwater seepage along the right bank of the Jim Woodruff Dam Project. The investigation shall map subsurface preferential flow paths through the limestone foundation material. The survey shall be conducted by energizing the groundwater with a signature alternating electric current, and then measuring the magnetic field generated at the surface using a sensitive magnetic receiver. Each investigation shall be conducted in two phases. The initial phase shall consist of collecting magnetic readings on a course grid pattern (approximately 20 meters by 40 meters), in order to identify anomalies areas. The second phase shall consist of collecting more magnetic readings tighter grid spacing in the anomalous areas, so as to closely map groundwater flow paths. TASK ORDER #012. PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The modification will increase the area of the geophysical investigation to include the left bank area of the Jim Woodruff Dam Project. This modification is required to help map potential seepage paths under the spillway and earthen dam.
