Description

The purpose of this announcement is to correct the announcement number from 09HQSS0027 to 10HQSS0014 so that the solicitation (which was issued 01/05/2010) will properly link and appear on the website. This requirement is the same as that announced under 09HQSS0027 on 12/16/2009 as follows: The Department of Interior, U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), has a requirement for refurbishment of a 250,000 gallon spheroid water tower located at the Earth Resources Observation and Science (EROS) Data Center in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. The Government anticipates award of a non-commercial (construction), firm fixed price type contract. The procurement is anticipated to include a period of performance of 180 days from date of notice to proceed. The solicitation and any documents related to this procurement will be available on the internet on or about January 5, 2010. The bidder is responsible for monitoring this site for the release of the solicitation and amendments (if any). A formal solicitation, statement of work, and technical exhibits are not available for release at this time. This requirement is being issued as Hubzone setaside. The applicable NAICS code is 238320, "engineering structure (e.g., oil storage tank, water tower) painting," and the size standard is $14M. The estimated cost for this acquisition is between $100,000.00 and $200,000.00. There is not an incumbent contractor. Full or partial funding for requirements to be completed by resultant contract award(s) may utilize funds provided by the American Recovery and Reinvestement Act of 2009. Inclusion of unique provisions required implementing the Act, including those for significant reporting and transparency requirements by the successful bidder(s), will be required in any resultant contract. Bidders are required to be registered in the Central Contractor Registration (CCR). Register by going to www.ccr.gov. A site visit will be scheduled on or about January 14, 2010. Potential bidders are encouraged to assess the conditions/scope of the project and impact on bids. Details will be in Section L of the IFB. Notification of intent to attend the site visit must be submitted via email to the Contracting Officer (CO) (lmccarthy@usgs.gov) at least 3 calendar days prior to the scheduled visit. Phone requests will not be accepted. Photo ID is required to enter EROS Data Center Campus. Vehicles are subject to search. The number of participants is limited to 3 representatives for your company; include the company name and address and names of participants and their phone numbers. If you desire to have your company information released to potential offerors for this acquisition, for the purpose of potential teaming or subcontracting arrangements, submit your information via email to the Contracting Officer stated herein. When submitting your information, please be sure to include the IFB number, your company name, phone number, address, primary point of contact and email for the primary point of contact. Your company information will be posted as an attachment to the solicitation. Questions and concerns must be submitted in writing either via email to the Contracting Officer at lmccarthy@usgs.gov or by fax (703-648-7901) by no later than 2:00pm, EST, January 22, 2010 so that a formal response may be issued through a solicitation amendment prior to the bid closing date.
