- (Subject Continued) (OSD#1863) FT, MEADE, MARYLAND U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) plans to issue a Request for Proposal (RFP) for the construction of BUILDING 8544 (OSD#A1885), 6530 (OSD#1863), FT. Meade, Maryland. The proposed procurement is SDVOB with NAICS code 236220 with a size standard of $33.5M. The construction of BUILDING 8544 (OSD#A1885), 6530 (OSD#1863), will be located at FT. Meade, Maryland. The solicitation will be available on or about 21 January 2010 with proposal due on or about 23 February 2010. Estimated cost of the construction will be between $1M and $5M. Construction duration is 365 days. Building 8544: This project will be design-build. Demolish the existing chiller, primary chilled water pump, 100% outdoor-air air handling unit and associated condensing unit, bathroom exhaust fans, and piping as required to facilitate the new piping configuration and appurtenances. Install a new air cooled chiller, which will be government furnished / contractor installed equipment. Install new variable primary chilled water pump, a new dedicated outdoor-air unit, new automatic dual-temperature valves for each floor, and chilled water, hot water, and dual temperature piping and appurtenances as needed to facilitate this scope. Upgrade building electric service from transformer to building, and add a new panel for all new electric loads. Patch, repair, and replace building finishes as necessitated by the scope of this project. Coordinate with Baltimore Gas and Electric to upgrade electric service to building transformer. Coordinate with Trane to integrate the building Lon controls into the Trane Bacnet UMCS. Building 6530: This project will be design-build. Repair existing abandoned wall penetrations, exterior wall cracks, and damaged CMU at the perimeter of the building. Replace existing exterior metal doors and frames. Replace existing door hardware. Remove one existing exterior door and close the opening with concrete block and finish to match surrounding wall. Replace exterior windows. Demolish existing front entrance and replace with new. Paint interior and exterior of building and repair all holes and cracks. Repair existing awning on exterior of building and remove unused posts. Provide zoned heat control throughout the building. Replace existing boiler, heating hot water pumps, and all appurtenances and piping in the mechanical room as necessary to facilitate this scope. Replace unit heaters in shop area. Rectify the sound and vibration issues in the woodshop that are caused by the existing duct collection system. Provide a new heating and ventilation unit in the woodshop. New controls installed under this contract will be Lon. Coordinate with Trane to integrate the building Lon controls into the Trane Bacnet UMCS. All qualified responsible sources may submit a proposal which shall be considered by the agency. The solicitation will be provided in an electronic format on or around the 21th of January 2010. After issuance of the solicitation, contractors may view and/or download the solicitation and all amendments. Plans and specifications will not be available in paper format.
