- This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. The solicitation number is AG-7MN1-S-10-AA02 and is issued as a request for quotation (RFQ). This solicitation is a small business set-aside. The NAICS is 811310, business size is $7.0 million. This solicitation document incorporates those provisions and clauses in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 2005-37. The USDA, Agricultural Research Service, Dale Bumpers National Rice Research Center, Stuttgart, Arkansas has an urgent need for the replacement of refrigeration condensing units for a seed storage facility which is a large cold room in Stuttgart, Arkansas. The USDA laboratory requires delivery and final start-up by no later than March 3, 2010. The following will detail the specific requirements. Scope of Work for Large Cold Room (Room 201) Cold Room Description: The cold room consists of one room with a total of 1500 square foot. The wall height from floor to ceiling is 13 foot even. (Four Walls.) The floor widths are 30 foot x 50 foot. The walls are 5 inches thick. There are presently four (4) condensing units (See description below.) That services this one room. Two work simultaneously to maintain the room temperature at 4 degrees centigrade. The other two condensing units are used as spares in case one of the two main condensing units becomes inoperable. The units are presently installed stacked on top of each other with a metal fabricated frame separating the units. Present Condensing Units Descriptions: (All Four) Manufacturer - Bohn - Heatcraft Part # - 8 9 0 1 9 8 0 1 Model # - B S T 0 4 0 H 2 D Serial # - T O 3 K O O 1 7 4 Phase - 3 Hertz - 60 Voltage - 480 Refrigerant - R22 Compressor - Copeland Copelmatic N R B 2 - 0 4 0 0 - T F D - 2 0 0 Requirement: The large cold room (Room 201) needs the four (4) refrigeration condensing units replaced. The cold room is presently operating on two (2) condensing units with the old refrigerant (R22). These condensing units are becoming obsolete and the parts thereof since the present condensing units uses R22 Freon. The contractor shall remove four (4) installed condensing units and shall furnish and install two new units with the following criteria: 1. Reclaim Freon from present system (R22). 2. Furnish and set two new replacement 7.5 horse power condensers. 3. Install four new 404A refrigerant expansion valves to the indoor fan coils. 4. Furnish new operating charge of 404A Freon. 5. Perform start up service and trouble shoot any and all problems that may arise from installation. 6. The new condensers will be three phase 460 VAC and will be set so that they can be switched, lead and lag, electrically instead of manually. 7. Provide one year parts and labor warranty. 8. The four condensing units that will be removed and parts thereof will be left on the property of Dale Bumpers National Rice Research Center.
