Description
The 516 Aeronautical Systems Group (516 AESG) anticipates issuing, in February 2010, a sole-source solicitation to The Boeing Company, 2401 East Wardlow Road, Long Beach, CA 90807-5309, for efforts associated with required transition of C-17 aircraft production assets, processes, systems, and other items, to the post-production environment for support of aircraft system sustainment and modernization. The solicitation anticipates an indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity contract (ID/IQ) with discrete delivery/task orders. Execution of orders beyond the initial order will depend upon future USAF requirements and available funding. The anticipated period of performance for this contract is Apr 2011 through Mar 2016. A complete re-procurement data package is n! ot available. The purpose of this synopsis is to determine whether any competitive sources exist and to notify industry of the impending action so that possible subcontracting opportunities may be pursued. Interested firms should indicate whether they are a large business, small business, small disadvantaged business (SDB), woman-owned small business (WOSB), 8(a)-certified business, service-disabled veteran-owned small business (SDVOSB), veteran-owned small business (VOSB), or Historically Underutilized Business small business (HUBZone), as well as the number of employees relat! ive to the size standard of 1,500. Responders shall include their assigned DUNS number and their Commercial and Government Entity (CAGE) code. The offeror must possess or demonstrate the ability to possess the knowledge, technical and program management capability, personnel, facilities, and other resources, along with the ability to gain access to Boeing and Boeing supplier facilities and proprietary data, to ensure a seamless process for transition to post production. Responders must include in their response to this synopsis evidence of these capabilities. The Boeing Company has met the above requirements satisfactorily. Potential subcontractors must demonstrate similar capabilities for subcontracted components, assemblies, or processes, and any other criteria deemed necessary by the prime contractor.
