Description

This project is to seismically upgrade the SPEARIII Ring, B140 and the Booster Ring. The portion of the SPEAR III Ring to be upgraded is at Beam to SPEAR (BTS), Old Beam Line 4 straight section, B140 and the exterior portion of the Booster Ring. At the BTS, new reinforced concrete shielding roof and wall blocks will be installed to secure the existing ones. New footing will also be installed to secure the new wall blocks. The existing concrete shielding of the SPEAR III Ring at the Old Beam Line 4 will be removed and replaced with a new monolithic cast-in place concrete tunnel and footing. B140 will be upgraded with new roof and wall bracing. New anchorage will be installed to tie the existing roof blocks of outdoor portion of the Booster Ring to the existing masonry wall. Some of the existing roof blocks will also be replaced with the new ones."
