- The Department of Veterans Affairs, VISN 11, in accordance with FAR 6.302.1 (only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements) intends to negotiate on a sole source basis with Leica Microsystems Incorporated, for Preventative Maintenance, Service and or Repair. The Contractor shall provide all parts, materials, labor, supervision, test equipment, technical manuals and transportation necessary to perform preventive maintenance and all emergency repairs on the Government owned Model Leica Microsystems Slide Printer, model IPS, serial 1180092007, EE # 37745, Leica Microsystems Slide Printer, model IPC, serial 1191092007, EE # 37746, Leica Microsystems Slide Stainer, model ST5020, serial 993062008, EE# 44156, Leica Microsystems Cover Slipper, model CV5030, serial 2068112008, EE # 49784, and Leica Microsystems Transfer Station, model TS5025, serial 579092008, EE# 44157 at the VA Ann Arbor Healthcare Systems, Laboratory Service, 2215 Fuller Road, Ann Arbor, MI 48105, for the period from date of award through September 30, 2010 with four (4) additional one (1) year options. NAICS 811219 applies, Small business size standard is $7.0 million. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. It is not a solicitation or request for offers. No solicitation package is available. A determination not to compete is solely within the discretion of the Government. Any response to this notice must show clear and convincing evidence that competition would be advantageous to the Government. Responses must be received no later than 3:30 pm on December 31st, 2009.
