Description
D-1 Fabricate and install four pivot points to accommodate the maintenance platforms to the deck adjacent to both AN/SLQ32 antennas as per drawing ASC180423, Sheets 44A-E. Install fabricated maintenance platforms (provided as GFE) to attachment points. Interferences- Lifeline stanchions on either side of the SLQ-32 will have to be removed to accommodate new maintenance platforms. (Temporary Lifelines shall be installed while these are removed ) CCTV camera may have to be relocated as well, this may be as simple as lowering the camera mount or locating it just enough to be clear of the platform as it is swung into place. Contractor shall submit a CFR with recommendations for relocating the camera for approval prior to making any modifications. O-1 In the event the platforms are not known to be available as GFE by Dec 18, this option will be turned on. Fabricate the AN/SLQ32 Maintenance Platforms in accordance with drawing ASC180423, Sheets 44A-E. Two sets shall be fabricated. A set consists of two platforms which will be installed on either side of the AN/SLQ32 Antenna. One set for the port antenna, one for the starboard antenna. There are three known issues with the materials list of the drawings: Item #137 the material should be aluminum Item#129 on sheet 12 the item should be 2? diameter with a 2 ?? sphere radius Item#129 sheet 10 is the attachment point for personnel life belts, and does not appear to match the item in the materials list. This piece should be fabricated using industry standard materials for constructing similar equipment for personnel safety. Period of performance Dec 21-Jan 17. Platforms MUST be installed and all work completed by Jan 17. Scaffolding will be necessary to accommodate painting of the underneath side of the platform where paint is disturbed due to welding. Contractor to provide a Condition Found Report within 24 hours to POC listed below in the event of more services or supplies not indicated in this scope. Report shall have description of findings and recommendations along with estimates for the additional work. Installation points and any disturbed areas of the deck shall be painted IAW USCG Colors and Coatings Manual. COMDINTS M10360.3C Maintenance Platforms shall be painted with two coats primer, final coat shall be same color as the deck and stanchions where these are installed. Before any painting, prepare work area by power tool cleaning in accordance with SSPC-SP15, do not use wire brushes. Remove all dust, dirt, blast residue, grease, oil and other contaminants from entire work area. Where new paint is to be merged into existing paint system, provide a three inch wide, smoothly tapered boundary from the existing paint to the prepared metal surface. Contractor shall provide firewatch during all times when Hotwork is performed during the performance of this contract. Contractor is responsible to provide all labor and tools necessary to conduct this work including but not limited to: on sight storage facility, man lift, scaffolding, crane lifts, sanitary facilities, trash services. Smoking and use of tobacco products aboard the Vessel or in Vessel office space is prohibited. The contractor shall comply with and ensure compliance to the following for operations which may affect Government personnel or property: 29 CFR Part 1915, "Occupational Safety and Health Standards for Shipyard Employment", 29 CFR Part 1910, "Occupational Safety adn Health Standards", and 29 CFR Part 1926 "Safety and Health Requirements for Construction".
