Description
Recovery Compact, High PRF, Wavelength-Controlled, Micropulse MOPA Laser Systemusing Fiber TechnologyThis synopsis is being provided for information purposes only.NASA Goddard has selectedFibertek Inc for the Laser Systems Engineering Services (LSES) contract, NNG09CP09C. This is an Indefinite Delivery-Indefinite Quantity Cost-Plus Award Fee contract valued at$35 million. The period of performance is five years. The NAICS Code is 336419 and theSize Standard is 1,000 employees. The value of task order #5 is $3,335,287.00 The period of performance is 8 December 2009to 31 October 2010.NASA Goddard awarded Task Order #5 to contract NNG09CP09C, IAW the American Recovery andReinvestment Act of 2009, PL 111-5. Task order #5 is Compact, High PRF,Wavelength-Controlled, Micropulse MOPA Laser System using Fiber TechnologyThe scope of task order #5 is the ICESat-2 Project is baselining a multiple ground-spot,micropulse laser measurement approach for ranging to collect data on the topography ofice sheets and the thickness characteristics of sea ice. As such, the Project requires alaser transmitter that is suited for such an application. This task involves designing, building, demonstrating and delivering a complete, compact, high-repetition rate,wavelength-controlled micropulse MOPA laser system. The target performance goals for thistask are listed below and correspond to the performance parameters listed in the ATLASLaser Performance Specification, ICESat-2-ATSYS-SPEC-0099, that is currently in theapproval process under the ICESat-2/ATLAS Configuration Management (CM) system. Most ofthe work is expected to be performed at the contractor's facility. Performanceverification of the laser system will take place at Goddard after delivery.Target performance goals for the micropulse space flight laser system are summarized inthe table below, but are available in more detail in the ICESat-2 Management InformationSystem (MIS). A current copy of this document is attached for convenience only but themost recent approved document in configuration management is the official source of thelaser requirements and takes precedence over other versions. The laser developed underthis task will be a brassboard version of the flight laser. This document and any other related documents to this procurement will be available overthe Internet. These documents will reside on a World Wide Web (WWW) server, which may beaccessed using a WWW browser application.
