- This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Federal Acquisition Requirements (FAR) Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested, and a written solicitation will not be issued. The solicitation number for this requirement is FA8601-10-T-0070 and is hereby issued as a Request for Quote (RFQ) using FAR Subpart 13.1 Simplified Acquisition Procedures. The 88th Contracting Squadron, Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio intends to award a firm-fixed-price contract for the following requirement: CLIN 0001: The High Temperature Steam Process System will have a superheated steam generator, a high temperature steam processing chamber, computer controlled, and a peristaltic pump with metered output for humidity calculations. The system will be used to inject superheated steam into a suscepter, for testing composite materials. Minimum requirement: • Dry steam generation o up to 1500°C steam temperature o 1 atmospheric pressure operation • Plug-and-play system o 1/4" NPT outlet for easy connection to existing piping o Quick-disconnect water inlet o Standard integrated K-type process thermocouples o All components 120V or 220V standard electrical plug-in • High temperature steam chamber o Use as steam reaction chamber or pass-through steam enhancer o Integrated pressure relief valve for safe operation • Approximately 2kW+ total system power for research use • Standard peristaltic pump o Enables metered water input o Fully adjustable range from 0-32 mL/min • System shall be computer controlled o System shall provide enhanced closed-loop feedback process control o Over-temperature protection with integrated over-temperature thermocouple • All stainless steel construction • Digital communications RS232/485 120V and 220V/ • SCR power controller with current limiter This acquisition is 100% Small Business Set-Aside and is under North American Industry Classification System code 333994 with a small business size standard of 500 employees.
