Description
Princeton University, a US Department of Energy prime contractor and operator of the Princeton Plasma Physics Laboratory (PPPL) located in Plainsboro, Middlesex County, New Jersey, desires to subcontract for design / build services with an Electrical Equipment Manufacturer (EEM) of medium voltage electrical equipment that also has an Engineering Division. The EEM selected for Subcontract award must have demonstrated experience in design engineering and project management of medium voltage AC Power distribution system retrofits and replacements. Using American Recovery & Reinvestment Act (ARRA) funding, PPPL will replace and / or upgrade parts of its medium voltage (4.16kV, 13.8kV and 26.4kV) AC Power distribution system. PPPL intends to replace Q3/Q4 4.16kV double-ended switchgear; a transformer VQT-1 rated 7.5MVA, 26.4kV to 4.16kV; and to retrofit existing switchgear replacing obsolete Federal Pacific 13.8kV S1/S3 and 4.16kV Q6 bus air-blast circuit breakers with modern vacuum circuit breakers. The Subcontractor will recommend replacement equipment alternatives for PPPL selection; will fabricate/acquire and deliver the equipment to PPPL by December 2010; and will install and commission it during calendar year 2011, or sooner. A copy of the proposed Statement of Work will be posted at http://procurement.pppl.gov by 11 December 2009. Statements of interest from qualified parties shall be sent to PPPL's RFP 10-014F coordinator Larry L. Sutton at lsutton@pppl.gov by Monday 21 December 2009. The statement must include company name, name, e-mail address and phone number of company's point of contact, information on company's manufacturing products (web address where that information may be found will suffice), engineering services capability and whether or not the company qualifies as a Small Business. The applicable North American Industrial Classification System (NAICS) codes for this work are: Manufacturing: 335311/335313; Construction: 238210. RFP 10-014F is scheduled to be posted on the web in late December. Those submitting statements of interest will be notified via e-mail of the RFP posting and its web address.
