- The G.V. (Sonny) Montgomery VA Medical Center in Jackson, MS is conducting market research to determine if there are small businesses, in particular Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned or Veteran-Owned, with experience in cleaning vent hoods, exhausts vents, and kitchen floors to include tags with date cleaned and a report of condition for the files. Potential offerors must have a record of satisfactory performance of at least 3 projects similar in size and scope over the last 5 years. We need someone who can come out any time they are call within a couple of hours. DESCRIPTION/SPECIFICATIONS/WORK STATEMENT The Contractor shall provide service to clean the vent hoods and exhausts at the G.V. (Sonny) Montgomery VA Medical Center, 1500 E. Woodrow Wilson Drive, Jackson, MS in accordance with all specifications, terms and conditions listed herein for the period 3/1/2010 through 9/30/2010 with four (4) renewable option years, if exercised by the government. Award is subject to the availability of funds. 1.MONTHLY - Service to clean the vent hoods, to include tags with the date cleaned and a report of condition for the files for the following: Canteen Kitchen Hood Systems Bistro Hood Systems Pizza Place Hood Systems 2.MONTHLY - Clean and disinfect floors and walls in the Pizza Place Kitchen and Lobby area, Canteen Kitchen and Lobby area, Bistro Kitchen and Lobby area 3.MONTHLY - Clean Bistro Dishwashing Hood 4.MONTHLY - Service to clean the vent hoods, to include tags with the date cleaned and a report of condition for the files for the following: Nutrition & Food Service Kitchen 5.MONTHLY - Clean oven exhaust in Nutrition & Food Service Kitchen; Clean all exhaust air ducts leading from the Nutrition and Food Service Kitchen to outside exhaust 6. Nutrition and Food Service Kitchen hood contains stainless steel baffle filters (32 each), nominal 20"x20". Filters are required to be properly cleaned quarterly as part of the vent hood cleaning. Provide complete filter replacement cost to be performed on an as needed basis at the discretion of the government. 7. Length and width of each hood: a. Canteen Kitchen: 4.5'x 20' b. Bistro Grill: 4.5'x 8' c. Pizza Place: 3'x 5' d. Food Service Oven: 1.5'x 6' e. Bistro Dishwasher: 3'x 4.5' f. Food Service Kitchen: 12'x 30' g. Food Service Kitchen Hood (4" x 6"). 8.There is one duct and one fan for each hood. All ducts go up only to roof deck above main floor (1 story); Food Service Oven has a 15' horizontal run (8" diameter). 9. Square footage of the floors and walls, by area, that is to be cleaned and disinfected are as follows: a.Pizza Place area: 360 sq ft/9' ceiling b.Canteen Kitchen area: 1600 sq ft/9' ceiling c.Bistro area: 350 sq ft/9' ceiling Work must be accomplished between the hours of 3:00 p.m. on Friday afternoon and 12:00 midnight on Sunday. The proposed North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 561720, Restaurant kitchen cleaning services, and size standard is $16.5M. RESPONDENTS SHOULD IDENTIFY THEIR BUSINESS SIZE AND SOCIOECONOMIC CATEGORY BASED ON THE NAICS CODE. Please submit expressions of interest and documentation of capabilities in sufficient detail for the Government to determine that your company possesses the necessary past performance experience to compete for this acquisition. Please ensure responses do not exceed five (5) 8.5in. X 11in. pages (two-sided pages will count as two pages). Since this is a Sources Sought Announcement, no evaluation letters will be issued to respondents. This synopsis is not to be construed as a commitment by the Government and no contract will be awarded from this announcement.
