Description
Solicitation for two upgrades to AIS Test Station P/N: 2212300-001, Hill AFB, UT This is a combined synopsis (required by FAR 5.203)/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR 12.603, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. AUTHORITY: 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1), JUSTIFICATION: SUPPLIES REQUIRED ARE FROM ONLY ONE OR A LIMITED NUMBER OF RESPONSIBLE SOURCE(S) AND NO OTHER TYPE OF SUPPLIES WILL SATISFY AGENCY REQUIREMENTS. The proposed contract action is for supplies and services for which the government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one, or a limited number of sources under the authority of FAR 6.302-1. All responsible sources may submit a capability statement, proposal, or quotation, which shall be considered by the agency. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, all proposals received prior to the closing date on the solicitation will be considered by the government. A determination by the government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government. Information received will normally be considered solely for determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. Specification, plans, or drawing relating to the procurement described are incomplete or not available and cannot be furnished by the government. The government does not own the data or rights to the data needed to purchase the item from additional sources. This requirement is for system Integration and test of a full replacement and upgrade to the current A-900 computer in the AIS Test Station (P/N: 2212300-001) to include point design to support current special interfaces to AIS busses and I/O systems, while maintaining a full A-900 operating system compatibility. The new computer will provide full A-900 emulation, and will be tested using current parts in the shop for repair at the time of test, to comparing current A-900 results with this contract's replacement and upgrade rack mount pc A-900 emulation system to ensure equal performance on the testing of these parts. The only known system capable for meeting our requirements is the Kestrel/DX with engineering enhancements developed for the AIS compatibility/interface.
