- Description
- Question: In the SOO, Section 1: Development Objective, paragraph 1. The requirement is "ISBPS power output shall be able to integrate and automatically parallel/synchronize with the existing BEAR power grid at the low voltage side of the distribution system to augment the power of the primary power source without any required changes to the existing power system." However, the SDC in the T.O.s and even the latest version of SDCs have a mechanical interlock between the main breaker and the MEP auxiliary. This interlock precludes being able to parallel any low voltage source with the prime power supplied to an SDC. Will modifications to allow paralleling be allowed? Reply: Modifications to allow paralleling, whether it be manual or automatic, would be allowed but as such the modified SDC would be part of the new SMART BEAR system and should be identified as part of that system. Therefore, they would not be making any changes to the existing power system.
