Site Visit Questions and Answers Solicitation No. AG-4431-S-10-0001 Replace Roofs, Buildings No. 1, 2, 4, 9 and 12 USDA, ARS, Mississippi State, MS AMENDMENT NO. 2 BID DATE IS CHANGED: December 16, 2009 @ 2:00 p.m. cst. 1. Clarification to Specification: Section 07 52 00 Modified Bitumious Membrane Roofing Part 2: 2.1 Modified Bitumen Sheets and Fiberglass Felt Materials a. SBS Base Sheet: ASTM D 6163, Type II, Grade S, Minimum 2.0 mm (80 Mils) thick. SHOUD READ: a. SBS Base Sheet: ASTM D 6163, Type I, Grade S, Minimum 2.0 mm (80 mils) thick AND b. SBS Interply Sheet: ASTM D 6163, Type II, Grade S, Minimum 2.0 mm (80 mils) thick. SHOULD READ: c. SBS Interply Sheet: ASTM D 6163, Type I, Grade S, Minimum 2.0 (80 mils) thick. 2. Section 072200-Paagraph 2.1.4 states Building 1 is to receives a 1/8" per foot tapered system. However, the Roof Plan on Page A100 denotes both 1/8" per foot slope. Which is desired? Due to existing flashings and weeps at the vertical surfaces the slope needs to be 1'8" per foot. 3. Will G.A.F be accepted as equal? Yes, if it is equal to the specifications as stated. 4. Does 150 calendar days include rain days? Confirmed, only actual rain days will be added to the 150 days. 5. If there is no Vapor Barrier, is one required? If required, how many ply, and what type material? Contractor shall provide a Bituminous Vapor Retarder as follows: Two plies of Type IV 35mil. Glass finer ply sheet applied in conjunction with three moppings of hot steep asphalt or in conformance with manufacturers recommendations.
