- This is a NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD A SOLE SOURCE CONTRACT. The period of performance will be awarded for a base year plus 2 option years. The authority cited for this sole source award is 10 USC 2304 (C) (1) or 41 USC 253 (C) (1); FAR 6.302-1, only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. The US Army Research, Development and Engineering Command Contracting Center, Aberdeen Installation Contracting Division, 4118 Susquehanna Avenue, Aberdeen, MD 21005 has a requirement to procure the following services: Planned maintenance, priority response service, Applied Biosystems manufactured parts, telephone and email technical support with factory-trained engineer, software updates when available for API5000 LCMS System. The intended period of performance for the base year service is 16 October 2009 - 15 October 2010. The Government intends to award a Firm-Fixed Price sole source contract to Applied Biosystems, Foster City, CA. The associated North America Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code is 811219 and the Business Size Standard is $7.0 Mil. All responses received within twelve (12) days after date of publication of this notice will be considered by the Government. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement no later than 10:00 AM Eastern Time, Monday, December 14, 2009. Any response to this notice must show clear and convincing evidence that competition would be advantageous to the Government in this and future procurements. A determination by the Government not to compete with this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
