Description
Broad Agency Announcement (BAA) for the U.S. Army Armaments Research,Development, and Engineering Center (ARDEC), Munition Sensors and Guidance Division, and Fuze and Precision Armaments Technology (FPAT)Directorate is responsible for providing advanced fuzing, networked sensing, and precision armaments to the Army. An equally important role of FPAT is to provide life cycle support for existing armament, fuze and fuze setting systems currently in the field. FPAT is comprised of five technology divisions that collectively provide the Army with a unique capability to analyze, evaluate, integrate, and evaluate new technology pertaining to precision armaments, sensors, and munitions. The Fuze Division is responsible for maintaining the RD&E life cycle of the Armys fuzing programs as well as defining the next generation of advanced fuzing systems. System safety and reliability are primary concerns that are never compromised. The Munition Sensors and Guidance Technology Division is involved with incorporating advanced technologies, Sensors/Seekers, Guidance, Navigation and Control into munitions and research in support of specific non-munition per On-going Contingency Operations (OCO) requests. Efforts under this BAA should focus on the militarization and testing of potential solutions to technology gaps. This shall be accomplished via investigative efforts in the following general technology areas as described in the BAA: A) Inertial Measurement Unit, B) Global Position System (GPS) with Anti-Jam, C) Tamper Proof Fuze Technologies, D) Fuze Proximity Sensor, E) Fuze Component Miniaturization, and F) Rechargeable Battery Power. The submission dates are as follows:White Paper Due Date: 5 January 2010Proposal Due Date: 5 March 2010 This BAA is a continuously open announcement valid throughout the period from the date of issuance December 1, 2009 through September 2012, unless announced otherwise.
