Description
University Affiliation for Medical Laboratory Technician The MEDCOM Health Care Acquisition Activity, Center for Health Care Contracting, Fort Sam Houston, Texas. The government is conducting a market research for any University or College that offers a National Accrediting Agency for Clinical Laboratory Sciences (NAACLS) accredited Certificate Program in Medical Laboratory Technology, and an Associate Degree in Medical Laboratory technology, that provides enrollment services and academic records maintenance for each student enrolled in the Medical Laboratory Technician Program [311-68K10]. The Program consists of two 26-week Phases: 40 semester hours studies conducted at the AMEDDC&S, Fort Sam Houston, TX, and 20 semester hours of clinical training conducted at any of the 21 US Army Medical Department Activity Phase 2 training sites. Total program length is 52 weeks. The clinical training will be performed under the supervision of qualified clinical instructors appointed by the Government. The Government will enroll at least 30 students per class, no more than 500 students annually into the Program but no more than 1,500 students over the contract period to include option years. Upon student completion of the 311-68K10 Program, the college or university will issue an official transcript for each student. All college credit hours granted will be based solely on the curriculum defined in the Program of Instruction (POI) for Army Course 311-68K10. NOTE: The 311-68K10 Program will not be in compliance with the Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments of 1988 (CLIA 88), or the DOD Clinical Laboratory Improvement Program of 1997 (CLIP) if any college or university does not offer a 60 Semester Hour Certificate Program as well as an Associate Degree Program. Non-compliance with CLIA 88 or CLIP would result in the loss of NAACLS accreditation, and would render our students ineligible to perform complex laboratory testing, or to challenge a National Certification Exam for Medical Laboratory Technicians. Please provide corporate capability, market trends, commercial availability and/or any related information to assist the government in defining our requirement. This notice does not constitute a request for proposal or solicitation. The NAICS code is 611310. Points of Contacts are Ms. Rose M.
