Description
The USAF Electronic Systems Center's (ESC) XR functional (referred to further herein as XR) has responsibility for capability integration at ESC, encompassing capability planning, developmental planning, and technology planning for ESC's Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (C4ISR) systems. It is intended that programs under this BAA include research and technology based theories in a broad range of technical areas that support C4ISR and network-centric operations to enable a competitive warfighting advantage. The R&D conducted under this BAA should explore unique and innovative approaches to technologies supporting C4ISR allowing for integration into service-oriented architectures which are needed to transform Air Force operations towards net-centric capabilities. Technology projects may include empirical research, prototypes, test beds, and proof of concept demonstrations. Projects should provide insight to ESC/XR personnel to understand the maturity of technological innovations, prepare for concepts to enter the developmental planning process, support network-centric experimentation venues, and produce technology roadmaps in support of existing Joint and Air Force programs of record. Results should be capable of productization. Joint and Coalition use are encouraged. Proposals that involve interdisciplinary teams are especially encouraged.
