AMS Fporm 010 - THIS FORM MUST BE COMPLETED AMS Form 009 - Procurement Specific - THIS FORM MUST BE COMPLETED 3.1.4 QA Form 3.14 Terms and Conditions - Supplement 1 to Attachment A - Work By Contractors On The Brookhaven National Laboratory Site Terms and Conditions for Non Commercial Services Scope of Work for the Mechanical Design andEngineering Support for the BNL Accelerator Test Facility Introduction - The principal tasks under this Scope ofWork are the design and einginering oversight of fabrication and installation of equipment and components relevant to the ATF maintenance, upgrade and support of user's experiments. Description of Tasks - To design and provide engineering support in the course of fabrication, procurement, and installation of the following items: 1. Components for rf gun, rf linear electron acccelerator and electron transport beam lines including mechanical supports, vacuum equipment and components, cooling systems, beam profile monitors, electron beam control equipment (magnets, spectrometers, etc.) 2. Components for lasers including mechanical supports, vacuum equipment and components, optical windows, cooling systems, etc. 3. Components for user's experiments 4. Lifting equipment. 5. Facility layout diagrams including radiation and laser interlock schemes. Responsibilities and Requirements - Design - The Contractor shall submit the design documentation (typically in AUTOCAD) for review to the ATF Contract Specialist or other ATF designated person for approval prior to fabrication. Design documentation shall be duly placed within the ATF's documentation archives for future referencing. Fabrication - Following the Design Review and approval of the design and after incorporating any recommended changes, the Contractor can proceed with placing the components for purchase or fabrication. The Contractor is responsible for cost and price analysis, overseeing and coordinating the fabrication to make sure that it is performing according to the documentation and in a timely fashion. Delivery and Installation - The Contractor is responsible for overseeing and coordinating delivery and installation of the purchase or fabricated components to the ATF according to the BNL's rules and safety requirements. Special Requirements - The Contractor shall be proficient with: - computer design software such as AUTOCAD. - experience with mechanical design. - familiar with optical design and optical materials. - familiar with accelerator equipment and diagnostics. - familiar with vacuum equipment and techniques. - familiar with stress analysis and thermal analysis. - familiar with building logical diagrams such as electronic interlock networks. - knowledgeable with the BNL's safety rules and regulations. - familiar with designing equipment for UHV applications. - must have knowledge of a photocathode electron gun and electron accelerator mechanical design. - knowledge and experience with liaising with BNl Central Shops and building trades is highly desirable. The period of performance is for twelve months starting January 1, 2010.
