- Description
- The Providence VA Medical Center has a requirement for a contractor to perform certified inspections and testing of its medical gas systems. The requirement includes compliance inspection and testing of the oxygen, medical air, nitrous oxide, nitrogen, medical vacuum, medical suction, and anesthesia exhaust systems in accordance with the most current editions of NFPA 99 and NFPA 55 and system manuals for a Level 1 facility. This also includes bulk systems, manifolds, compressors, dryers, filters, regulators, vacuum pumps, air treating systems, zone valves, outlets, master alarms, and area alarms as appropriate. Installers shall meet the requirements of ASSE 6010, Professional Qualification Standards for Medical Gas Installers. Contractors shall also provide training to at least two hospital maintenance personnel to repair spare components in between scheduled maintenance. Supervisory personnel on each pertinent ward shall also be trained how to recognize gas leaks in their area. Furnish the services of a competent instructor for not less than two or four hour periods for instructing personnel in the operation and maintenance of medical gas, air and vacuum systems. The VA is soliciting a firm fixed price contract with a base of 12/28/2009 - 12/27/2010 and four option years. The NAICS code for this is 811219 and the size standard is $7 million. Award will be based on the best value to the Government. Evaluation factors are technical, past performance, and price. The solicitation package will be available on or about November 25, 2009.
