Description
Synopsis: Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Competition for Lease Location This is a Sources Sought Notice for further information please contact Bob Wesp at robert.wesp@va.gov. General Information The Veterans Benefits Administration, a Department of the VA, is seeking up to 4,200 net usable square feet of existing office space in the Kansas City, Missouri Metropolitan area for a Veterans Center. The VA is conducting a competition for space and will locate this center in the most advantageous location for the Government. The Location, Present Layout, its alterations and other factors will be considered when determining whether the space identified by offerors is appropriate. The space may be located on more than one floor, and provide between 3,600 to 4,200 NUSF of space. VA is requiring a minimum of 18 on-site parking spaces 3 of which are marked as handicapped. The lease terms will be for up to 10 years with termination rights after 5 years with a 180 days written notice to the lessor. Occupancy required June 1, 2010. The acceptable site will be existing office space which could easily be modified to meet the VAs needs with build out. To be considered the property/space must be within or bordering a delineated area as follows: North: Independence Ave (Highway 24) East: Noland Road West: Broadway/Ward Parkway South: Bannister road (95th Street) Offers must provide evidence that properties are outside the 100 year flood plain. VA staff will conduct a market survey of properties offered for lease. Please provide the following in your package: 1) Site location (physical location of property); 2) Property description; 3) Total square footage; 4) Site condition; 5) Floor plans-if available; 6) Pictures if available. The Government is limited by law (40 USC 278a, as Amended 10-1-81) to pay no more than the appraised fair rental value for space.
