- Description
- The U.S Army RDECOM Contracting Center, Natick Contracting Division on behalf of the United States Marine Corps Systems Command (MARCORSYSCOM) is requesting information on a trailer based kitchen that shall be called the Expeditionary Field Kitchen (EFK). The Marine Corps require a portable, rapidly deployable tactical field kitchen capable of supporting 500 Marines using the full family of Department of Defense field rations to include the Unitized Group Ration-A (UGR-A), the UGR-B and the UGR Heat and Serve. A DRAFT System Specification for the Expeditionary Field Kitchen is attached to this request for information. This DRAFT system specification is being released to commercial industry for review, comments and questions. The specification will be used to support a planned acquisition of the EFK by the Marine Corps in FY 2010. The Governments intent is to develop a system specification that meets Marine Corps performance requirements while allowing industry to provide innovate, cost effective, safe and sustainable systems. As part of this RFI, the Government also asks that information (i.e. marketing sheet, specification sheets, drawings) be provided by industry to identify a portable system that currently meets all of the stated requirements or if changes are required to an existing system to meet the requirements. If so, state what changes are necessary. Please also provide estimated pricing data for existing systems and the cost for modifications to meet the stated requirements in the system specification as written. If industry believes there are requirements that significantly drive the cost up or are unattainable by best commercial practices, please also identify those issues in your comments. Potential Vendors are being asked to state their interest in manufacturing the kitchen. Information is required within 30 calendar days of the date of publication of this notice and should include 1)background/experience in designing and developing field kitchens and food service equipment 2)product literature for any standard equipment that vendors propose to use to meet the requirements of the specification 3)estimated number of months to develop and deliver a testable system. Responses to this notice shall be submitted via email to Kevin Parker at kevin.james.parker@us.army.mil. Phone calls will not be accepted. This request for information is intended for Government planning purposes only. This notice is not an Invitation for Bid or Request for Proposal nor is it a commitment from U.S Army RDECOM Contracting Center, Natick Contracting Division or the Marine Corps.
