Description
This is to incorporate questions and answers received in response to the previous notice. The date for responses has been extended until 1600 December 2, 2009. Q1. In both the solicitation heading as well as the Overview fingerprint technology and equipment is mentioned. Will there be any testing or evaluation of the fingerprint technology with regards to this solicitation? A1. Fingerprint technology will not be tested or evaluated. Q2. What is the expectation for a response? A2. The expectation is a written response from the vendor stating what iris matching libraries, SDKs, APIs they intend to provide for performance, interoperability and compatibility testing and evaluation of current iris matching and template generation on BAT. Also, any other accompanying software/hardware items that would be needed to support the test and evaluation which will be a part of any future acquisition. Q3. Please explain what hardware items may be needed for the performance, interoperability and compatibility tests to be conducted by the PM DoD Biometrics? A3. PD TBS has servers and laptops. What may be needed for the performance, interoperability and compatibility testing would be iris capture device (s). Q4. Will the PD TBS expect and/or allow engineering support to set up the vendor's technology submission and be available for any follow up questions? A4. PD TBS will expect as needed or on-call engineering support if any questions arise. Not engineering support on location. Q5. For what length of time does the PM DoD Biometrics need the technology submission to be active? A5. PM DoD Biometrics estimates a period of 6 months to evaluate. As a point of clarification there will be no testing of proposed equipment at this time. This is a request for information to aid with market research. All responses, comments and questions must be submitted electronically to andrea.etheridge@us. army.mil with copy to william.palmerjr1@us.army.mil. No telephonic discussions will be held. Please limit your response to no more than 20 pages. Responses are due in PowerPoint and/or MS Word, and/or MS Excel format
