Description
THIS IS AN AMERICAN RECOVERY AND REINVESTMENT ACT (ARRA) PROCUREMENT. The purpose of this announcement is to make notice that the Forest Service contemplates releasing a solicitation numbered AG-0489-S-10-0052 on or about December 7, 2009, for the RECOVERY Thorne Bay Road Reconstruction project. If the solicitation is released, it will be released through this FedBizOpps website, and prospective bidders should visit this FedBizOpps website from time to time on or after December 7, 2009 to obtain a copy of the solicitation. This notice meets the requirements of FAR 5.201. However, the Forest Service reserves the right not to release a solicitation. PROJECT DESCRIPTION. This project consists of reconstruction of 17.03 miles of NFSR road including development and placement of surface aggregate on NFSR 2050 Rd, NSFR 3015 and NSFR 3013. Option one is for an additional 3.09 miles of surfacing on the 3015 road. Option two is the development and stockpiling of 15000 cy of gradient D aggregate (5000 cy) in each of the three pits where it is crushed. Furnish and install 3 gates and rock barriers. Option 3 is the continuation of reconstruction and surfacing on the 3013150 rd. m.p. 2.86 to m.p. 6.06. The intent of this contract is to provide for the complete project described in the contract. Unless otherwise provided, the Contractor shall furnish all labor, materials, equipment, tools, transportation, and supplies and perform all work required to complete the project in accordance with the specifications and provisions of the contract. The Government’s estimate is between $1,000,000 and $5,000,000. PROJECT LOCATION. The project is located on Prince of Wales Island, Thorne Bay area in Southeast Alaska. Thorne Bay is a small community with limited services. Thorne Bay road system can be accessed by the Inter-Island ferry system and by floatplane. PARTICIPATION. This project is a Total HUB-ZONE Business Set-Aside. All responsible sources may submit an offer which shall be considered. Prospective bidders who wish to provide comments on the set-aside matter should provide these comments to the contracting officer on or before November 27, 2009. Indeed, all prospective bidders are invited to notify the contracting officer of their interest in the acquisition. FOR MORE INFORMATION.
