Description

The US Geological Survey in Reston, VA intends to award a noncompetitive procurement to Thomson Reuters (Scientifice), Inc. of Philadelphia, PA for subscription services to Web of Science (WoS) databases offered on the Web of Knowledge platform. WoS is a major bibliographic citation source for scientific literature. The subscription will consist of the following databases: Web of Science/Science Citations Index Expanded (SCIE)Current Contents Connect (CCC)Life of Sciences (LS)Agriculture/Biology/Environmental Sciences (AE)Physical/Chemical/Earth Sciences (PCE)Journal Citation Reports Science Edition (JCR) The tool provides database service that combines evaluated content with the tools to use, manage, and analyze peer-reviewed scientific literature directly from scientists' desktops. The contract will cover services starting January 1, 2010, for a base year with four one-year options, through December 31, 2015. The Government anticipates award of a commercial, fixed price type contract. This is not a request for competitive quotes. Firms believing that they can provide these services are encouraged to identify themselves and give written notification to the Contract Specialist. All responsible sources may submit a capability statement which shall be considered by the agency. Determination by the Government not to compete this action based on responses to this notice is solely with the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining to conduct a competitive procurement. The Product Service Code is D317 and the North American Industrial Classification System (NAICS) code is 511140.
