Description
The Philadelphia VA Medical Center (PVAMC) is seeking a qualified professional Architect Engineering Services (A/E) firm which shall develop plans and specifications for the construction and renovation of Building #1 for the installation of a new elevator (Project Number 642-10-101). The design will include the renovation of and demolition of existing space for an elevator to service the basement through 8th floors, with an elevator mechanical room located on the 9th floor. Architect Engineer services will include planning meetings with department officials involved in order to develop conceptual layouts for the installation of the elevator. We are looking for an A/E with a good background in renovation and structural work along with experience in the specification of elevators and related work. The firm should be balanced with a multidisciplinary organization. Joint ventures will be considered. The duration of the design is to be five (5) months (150 calendar days). Department of Veterans Affairs design manuals for each design discipline are available on the VA Facilities Management Homepage at http://www.cfm.va.gov. Any major design deviations from these manuals should be discussed and approved by Facilities Management Support before the design is incorporated on the contract documents. This procurement is unrestricted under NAICS Code 541310. The estimated construction cost of this procurement is between $1,000,000.00 and $2,000,000.00. Potential contractors must be registered in CCR (www.ccr.gov) at the time of submission of their qualifications in order to be considered for award. A/E firms interested are invited to submit two (2) copies of the completed SF 330s (Part I and II) to the attention of Maureen Jordan, Contracting Officer (90C), Department of Veterans Affairs, Philadelphia VA Medical Center, 3800 Woodland Avenue, Room GC104 (located near the Library in the basement of the main hospital building (Building 1)), Philadelphia, PA 19104. Responses must be received no later than 4:00 P.M. on Thursday, December 17, 2009. Standard Form 330s (Part I and II) can be obtained at http://www.gsa.gov/Portal/gsa/ep/formslibrary.
