Description
The San Francisco District, Corps of Engineers, is seeking sources capable of furnishing specialized restroom pumping services by boat at the various camp sites located at Lake Sonoma. The floating and primitive restrooms are located either on water or at camp sites at Lake Sonoma accessible only by boats or by specialized vehicles. * Quicksilver Camp * Broken Bridge Camp * Island View Camp * Falcons Nest Camp * Black Mountain Camp * Homestead Camp * Buck Pasture Camp * Loggers Camp * Old Sawmill Camp * Rustlers Camp * Madrone Point Camp * Thumb Camp * Lone Pine Camp * Skunk Camp * Bummer Peak (Accessible by 4X4 vehicle only) Term of proposed contract: Base + 4 Option Years. Services Required A. Floating Restrooms: There is one (1) floating restroom located on the waters of Lake Sonoma. The location may vary between the Dry Creek Arm at Smith Creek and the Warm Springs Arm near Rattlesnake Island. The floating restroom has a 450 gallon holding tank. •· Checking tank volume - The volume of the vault can be checked using one of these two methods. When the tank shows ½ or greater full, use both of the following methods: •1. Check the indicator bars on the side of the pontoon at the water line. The bars are three horizontal lines, green at the bottom, yellow at the middle and red on top. When the waterline is at the yellow line this indicates the tank is ½ full. The red line indicates that the tank is too full for the restroom to be used without being pumped first. The green line indicates the tank is empty or close to empty. •2. Open the hatch of the main tank and visually check the volume. •· Monitor the lower holding vault and report to the Park Manager or his Designated Representative when lower vault is two-thirds full. B. Primitive Restrooms: There is a mix of Shasta Waterless Sanitation System restrooms, portable restrooms, and Romtec vault restrooms in the fifteen (15) primitive camp areas. Each Shasta Waterless restroom has a 300 gallon capacity vault, and each Romtec has a 750 gallon capacity vault. The Contractor shall be able to provide restroom pumping within 24 hours of the request of the Park Manager. All pumping shall be completed within 5 days of request regardless of the quantity requested. After each pumping, the contractor will add liquid enzyme solution (provided by the contractor and approved by the park manager) to facilitate solid waste breakdown. NOTE: The primitive campground restrooms and floating restrooms require the use of a boat and portable pumping equipment for service. The primitive restrooms are a non-portable vault type, and the floating restrooms cannot be moved, due to their anchoring system, to facilitate pumping. Contractors should provide the following information: Does your firm have previous experience in sewage pumping and disposal of bio-waste by boat ? (Yes or No? or you may elaborate) Does your firm have any knowledge of boating laws? (Yes or No? or you may elaborate) Does your firm have any experience/knowledge in applicable permits and/or licenses for bio-waste disposal and any understanding of reporting requirements for spills or other contamination? (Yes or No? or you may elaborate) Contractors can provide one (1) sample project that best describes their experience referenced in questions 1 - 4. On your cover sheet please include your business size and any programs you are currently registered in, your DUNNs number, whether or not your firm is CCR registered, and a primary Point of Contact at your firm.
