- TITLE Tahoe National Forest, Prospectus for Campground and Related Granger-Thye Concessions TYPE OF NOTICE Combined Synopsis/Solicitation SYNOPSIS The Tahoe National Forest is pleased to announce the availability of a prospectus issued to solicit applications for a concession special-use permit. One special use permit will be issued to provide high-quality public service in the operation and maintenance of Government-owned campgrounds and other developed recreation facilities on the American River, Yuba River, and Truckee Ranger Districts. The prospectus includes facilities located at five separate recreation complexes located within the three ranger districts. The prospectus is currently available on the web at: http://www.fs.fed.us/r5/tahoe/recreation/prospectus The application process is open to all interested bidders. The special use permit will be issued for a term of five-years, with the Forest Service having the option to extend the permit for an additional five-year term. The prospectus describes the business opportunity and provides instructions for submitting applications. Applications must be received by close of business (4:30 PM) on January 22, 2010. Submit applications to: Tahoe National Forest Supervisor’s Office, 631 Coyote Street, Nevada City, CA 95959. Attention: Kevin McCombe. A selection will be made in February, 2010, so that a special use permit is issued and the concession operator is in place for the 2010 camping season. Please review the prospectus carefully. Applicants are encouraged to visit the recreation sites at least once before submitting an application. Each applicant is expected to make an independent assessment of the business opportunity offered in the prospectus. Applicants must submit six (6) copies of their application package and supporting documents in hardcopy format. The same number of copies of the Business Plan must be submitted as a separate document. Unless requested in writing to return proposals, all unsuccessful applicant’s proposals and supporting documents will be destroyed after the appropriate appeal period. Please review application procedures carefully as portions of the selected applicant’s package will become part of the special use permit. Also, please ensure that all requested information is submitted. Missing or incomplete information will result in a lower rating for the corresponding evaluation criteria.
