Description
TITLE: Time charter of one self-sustaining vessel in support of the U.S. Navy. Solicitation N00033-10-R-2002. DESCRIPTION: The Military Sealift Command will be requesting proposals for one U.S. flagged vessel to support deploying and towing four (4) subsurface arrays at speeds of 0.5-4 knots. The vessel is required to have a minimum speed of 10 knots and a minimum range of 1,000 NM at 10 knots, up to Sea State 3. A minimum of 40 ft. x 20 ft. clear deck space aft is required. Two cranes and two winches will be required. Government Furnished Equipment (GFE) will be loaded on the vessel and secured. GFE dimensions, as well as crane and winch requirements will be included in an upcoming market survey. The vessel must have accommodations for four government personnel, three male and one female, and provide three meals daily for them while underway. A small interior workspace for electronics equipment testing, is required. The vessel will deliver at Port Hueneme, CA. The anticipated performance start date is 03 December 2009. The contract will include a base performance period of approximately four days, with two 1-day options, for a total of six days. It is anticipated that the Request for Proposals (RFP) will be issued in Nov 2009.
