Drilling Boreholes for Soil Sampling at Mud Mountain Dam This requirement is for firm fixed price (FFP) direct push soil sampling services at Mud Mountain Dam, Enumclaw, Washington. The Corps of Engineers is investigating petroleum contaminated soil that was discovered at Mud Mountain Dam during the removal of an underground storage tank (UST 6). Further background on the discovery can be found in the Management Plan for this project found in Attachment C. The cause and extent of the petroleum contamination is currently unknown. The purpose of the investigation is to determine the nature and extent of the contamination and to provide information to prepare a cost estimate to the Mud Mountain Dam project staff. Based on the results of the investigation, the Corps will be able to budget and plan for the eventual clean-up of the contaminated soil. Environmental Engineering and Technology Section (ET Section) will be leading the in-house sampling team as described in the Management Plan (Attachment C).
