- Description
- The National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences (NIEHS), Research Triangle Park, NC intends to negotiate on a sole source basis with Affymetrix, Inc., Santa Clara, CA 95051 pursuant to 41 U.S.C.253(c)(1)--Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. This procurement is for renewal of annual service agreement for the period of one (1) year for the following Affymetrix equipment: Model GCS, S/N 74900992, Model 640, S/N 11907, Model AUTO, S/N A03640, Model FS450's, S/N 60102700, 60105370, 60105270, 60114010, and Model GC300007G, S/N 50209560. Service agreement includes telephone technical support, 4 hour telephone response, 48 hours on-site response, emergency visits, parts, one preventative maintenance visit, and software upgrades. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals; however, all responses received within 8 days from the date of publication of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract action based upon responses to this notice is solely with the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. If no affirmative responses are received within 8 days of this notice to determine whether a qualified source is more advantageous to the Government, the order will be issued to Affymetrix, Inc. The NAICS Code/Size is 811219/$7.0 Million. This procurement is to be processed using Simplified Acquisition Procedures in conjunction with FAR Part 12 Commercial Item Acquisition of Commercial Items.
