Description
The Marine Corps Systems Command (MCSC) intends to hold a full and open best value competition for the procurement of Marine Corps Bridge Pallets. The Marine Corps relies on a large fleet of the Improved Ribbon Bridge (IRB) assets, which are transported on the Logistics Vehicle System (LVS) and Logistics Vehicle System Replacement (LVSR) to meet high mobility wet gap bridging requirements. A Marine Corps Bridge Pallet must be fielded so that the IRB System interfaces with the Logistics Vehicle System (LVS) and Logistics Vehicle System Replacement (LVSR) with optimal system integration to ensure consistently safe, fast and reliable launches and recovery. The MCBP is a separate removable rack that is loaded on a LVS-18A1 or LVSR Cargo Variant, and is used in conjunction with the Load Handling System (LHS) of the LVS 18A1 or LVSR Cargo Variant to load, unload, and transport IRB interior and ramp bays. A Request for Proposals (RFP) will be released on or about 27 November 2009, with proposals due 30 days thereafter. All terms and conditions will be identified in the solicitation. The solicitation will be available to interested parties though the Navy Electronic Online (NECO) website (http://www.neco.navy.mil). It is the responsibility of interested parties to independently watch the website for updates to any and all documents. Potential offerors are responsible for downloading their copy of the solicitation and amendments, if any. The written solicitation and amendments will not be issued. The Government will not be responsible for any cost incurred in responding to this notice. In order to be eligible for award, interested parties must be registered with the Central Contractor Database (CCR) and Online Representations and Certifications Application (ORCA). The websites are http://www.ccr.gov and http://orca.bpn.gov. Any questions regarding this announcement or the pending solicitation are to be addressed to the contracting specialist, Mr. Tom Anable at (703) 432-5016 or by e-mail at thomas.anable@usmc.mil.
