- Description
- In accordance with FAR subpart 13.106-1(b), the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) intends to issue a sole source purchase order to Suburban Surgical Company, Inc. in Wheeling, Il The purpose of this purchase order is to procure 10 stainless steel 4-compartment Primate Socialization Cages on wheels (65"W x 43.75" D x 89" H ). These Socialization Cages are required by CDC Division of Scientific Resources, Animal Resource Branch to comply with Animal Welfare Association (AWA) regulations which state that all attempts should be made to socialize primates that are held in captivity. Primate Socialization Cages with autoclavable parts; and multiple purpose "tilt-pans", that are removable, and allow for vertical and horizontal socialization are required. In addition, an animal height of 35" inside is required for each compartment for HIV Prevention biomedical research.. Suburban Surgical Company, Inc is the only known, responsible source that offers the above referenced socialization cages. Interested parties who feel that they possess the capabilities to provide the services described above should submit a capability statement demonstrating their abilities to provide the services. The information received in response to this notice will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct a competitive requirement. Please send your documentation to Sharon Cunningham at the office identified above, by email to cux0@cdc.gov. documentation should be received within fifteen (15) days after the date of publication of this synopsis to be considered by CDC. A determination by the CDC not to compete this proposed contract, based upon responses to this notification, is solely within discretion of the government.
