- Description
- Question - Set #3 Can you give me an example of the explosives? Are they actual explosives or chemicals that are reactive such as Picric acid, peroxides or peroxide forming materials. Answer: Our explosive materials are also called 'reactives'. All of these are in small amounts, usually much less than 1000gm. These include: • picric acid (saturated aqueous solution (<4%), or crystalline under water). • peroxides, organic peroxides (e.g. benzoyl peroxide crystal), and peroxide formers • 2,4-dinitrophenylhydrazine (kept in a moistened condition). • metal powders (cobalt, copper, nickel, tungsten carbide). • Tributylphosphine liquid, 98%
