Description
RECOVERY - PER FAR 5.7 THIS NOTICE IS PROVIDED FOR INFORMATION PURPOSES ONLY; THEREFORE FAR 5.203 DOES NOT APPLY. THIS OPPORTUNITY IS AVAILABLE ONLY TO CONTRACTOR(S) UNDER THE CURRENT CONTRACT NUMBER(S): OCCI INC, W912DQ-09-C-1035 This Modification will be issued pursuant to American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA). This will be a firm fixed price modification to an existing contract. The Government intends to issue a sole source procurement to the existing contractor for the following additional work: additional weld repair and re-painting services to Intake Gates 1, 2 and 3 to ensure the complete structural repairs of the intake gates prior to award and completion of the In-Place Turbine Blade Repair contract. Due to the location of the additional weld repair work to be completed on the Intake Gates of the Hydraulic Steel Structure within the Stockton Dam Power Plant, there is no way to get another contractor into the area while the current Contractor completes the work without severely impacting safety and the schedule. Safety concerns are related to having several contractors in a confined space, wearing hose-supplied air breathing apparatus that may get tangled with other equipment. The schedule concerns are related to the sequential implementation of the weld repairs prior to painting within each gate. The current contract calls for painting of the Hydraulic Steel Structure, this modification would require removal of additional paint, welding work on the Intake Gate and additional painting. The proposed contract action is for services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, all proposals received within fifteen days after date of publication of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete with this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. If interested provide a proposal on company letter head with a complete detailed description how work will be accomplished in order to maintain safety, and prevent impact to schedule, and necessary skills and qualifications. Documentation should be limited to 10 pages.
