Description
THIS IS AN AMERICAN RECOVERY AND REINVESTMENT ACT (ARRA) ACTION. The U.S. Forest Service, EROC SW region has a requirement to secure services for the decommissioning and removal of buildings, utilities and debris at the Big Flat Guard Station on the Smith River National Recreation Area (NRA) of the Six Rivers National Forest. The work includes the furnishing of all labor, equipment, materials and supervision to demolish and dispose of a barracks building, a generator shed, storage shed, tanker bay foundation, gas house canopy roof, ice house, abandoned utility boxes, above ground utilities and other debris at the Big Flat Guard Station. All buildings and portions of buildings become property of the contractor who may salvage for future use any portions deemed salvageable. All demolition materials must be removed from prospective sites and disposed of either via salvage, recycling or disposal at a licensed landfill capable of handling the generated waste. Should hazardous materials be encountered, appropriate abatement procedures shall be required. The contractor shall carefully examine the existing conditions and information, shall become familiar with the nature and location of the work, the conformation of the ground slopes and terrain, the nature of the soil and subsoil conditions, nature and extent of the materials that will be encountered during the decommissioning operations and any existing site conditions that may effect the project, prior to the beginning of work. PROJECT LOCATION AND ACCESS Location The project area is located on the Smith River NRA of the Six Rivers National Forest in Township 15 North, Range 2 East, Sections 23, Humboldt Meridian. The project lies within Del Norte County. Access From Eureka, California travel on Highway 101 north approximately 90 miles to Crescent City. Travel approximately four miles north of Crescent City to State Highway 199. Take Highway 199 approximately eight miles east to the South Fork Smith River Road. Travel approximately 14 miles on the South Fork Smith River Road on County Road 427 to Big Flat Guard Station. The NAICS code is 238910. The estimated price range is between $25,000.00 and $100,000.00.
