- Description
- NASA-Johnson Space Center applied funds from the American Recovery and ReinvestmentAct of 2009 to work on the Commercial Crew and Cargo Program (C3PO). The total amount is$163,957. This is a modification to the Bioastronautics contract with Wyle IntegratedScience & Engineering Group under contract NAS9-02078.
Award was made on modification 166, funding Task Order 2.1.8. The purpose of this taskorder is to develop a set of human system integration requirements for application tocommercial spacecraft in support of NASAs C3PO. The human system integrationrequirements developed under this task order shall be based on a review of existing HumanRating requirements, Spaceflight Human Systems Standards, Constellation Programrequirements, Commercial Crew and Cargo Program Office operational concepts andrequirements, and the Johnson Space Center Space Life Sciences Directorate HumanInterface Design Handbook.
This contract was awarded on a competitive basis. This existing Bioastronautics contractwith Wyle is the most appropriate contractual vehicle for the work required. Thismodification was issued using the same cost-plus-award-fee (CPAF) contract arrangementthat was established from the original contract award. A CPAF arrangement is appropriatedue to uncertainties involved in performance of this effort that do not permit costs tobe estimated with sufficient accuracy for the use of a fixed-price contractual vehicle.
