Description
THE SUBMISSION OF THIS INFORMATION IS FOR PLANNING PURPOSES ONLY AND IS NOT TO BE INTERPRETED AS A COMMITMENT BY THE GOVERNMENT TO PROCURE ANY ITEMS OR SERVICES, NOR FOR THE GOVERNMENT TO PAY FOR THE INFORMATION RECEIVED. The Marine Corps Systems Command, Program Manager for Infantry Weapons is seeking potential sources to conduct a research and development effort with potential for future production of the solution, to enhance the Marine Corps M1014 Shotgun. Currently, the M1014 Semi-Automatic shotgun does not efficiently cycle less than lethal rounds without the aid of a charging handle. The enhancement should:. Not change the M1014's semi-automatic cycle of operation or overall characteristics/capabilities.. Not cause the shooter to change tactics, techniques or procedures.. Provide the M1014 the ability to cycle the appropriate Department of Defense Identification Codes (DoDICs) of less than lethal ammunition for the M1014 semi-automatic shotgun. DoDICs include: AA29, AA30 and AA31. Responders should provide:. A declaration of their interest in this program.. A description of a potential solution that includes supporting literature, brochures and capabilities summaries directly addressing their ability to meet the aforementioned needs.. Any supporting documentation on other products or programs where similar work has been performed.. Any interest in attending an industry day regarding this effort.. Any recommendations or innovative solutions as to how to better address this requirement that deviates from the above. Instructions to responders:. Submit via email (karen.ledgerwood@usmc.mil) or standard mail (see address below). Due to network restrictions, email attachments should be no larger than 4MB.. State business size, NAICS Code, and identify a corporate point of contact. The deadline for receipt of information is close of business 20 November 2009.
