Description
Pursuant to contract M67854-08-C-1118, previously awarded by the Government, it is the intention of the United States Marine Corps Systems Command (MARCORSYSCOM), Infantry Weapons Systems to continue these services by extending the period of performance on the previously awarded contract. Due to recent programmatic changes attempting to relocate the Squad Integration Capability to a government facility, a facility capable of housing the equipment and structures is necessary until the move to the government facility. It is currently built-in and operated at a Stafford Va location with the incumbant contractor Raytheon Network Centric Systems, 2501 West Universtiy Drive. McKinney, Texas 75070. The government intends to sole source to Raytheon due to the significant duplication of costs associated with moving the equipment and structures out of the current location to another facility temporarily and then moving it again to the government facility located in MCB Quantico. The extended period of performance would include the period from 01 January 2010 not to exceed 30 June 2010. Extending the current contract for a period of six months increases the contract value by an estimated $750,000.00. The referenced contract provides for certain technical, and subject matter expertise for the Squad Integration Capabilities in Stafford, VA. Specifically, this effort will sustain current integration operations with technical improvements to select capabilities; provide engineering hardware/software and technical support; modeling and simulation support for infantry capabilities and analysis; evaluation support for integration projects; provide IT infrastructure and a knowledge management system; facilitate the operation of an immersive urban simulator/trainer; collect human systems integration data, to include video, as personnel operate in the immersive urban simulation; liaison with infantry users and operational forces, provide a human factors capability to include trial support hardware and data collection systems, provide SME collaborative work environment, secure government/contractor equipment provisions, and support integration IPT meetings and conferences. This notice is not a request for competitive proposals and no solicitation is available. A determination by the Government not to compete the proposed effort on a full and open basis is solely within the discretion of the Government. Point of Contact: john.wahl@usmc.mil Marine Corps Systems Command, Attn: John Wahl, 2200 Lester St., Quantico, VA 22134.
