Description
REQUEST FOR INFORMATION/SOURCES SOUGHT: The Department of Veterans Affairs, Office of Acquisition and Logistics, Technology Acquisition Center is looking for sources that are able to provide the Wireless Nurse Call Communication Project support in support of the Veterans Health Administration (VHA) Innovations program. This project shall develop a working functional prototype of a wireless nurse call system in buildings 83 and 84 of the Battle Creek VA Medical Center (VAMC). The working functional prototype shall not impact production systems or patient care in any way. The contractor shall provide all necessary personnel, management, hardware, software, staff training and technical services required to install an 802.11 Federal Information Processing Standardization (FIPS) 140-2 certified wireless communications system and an Enterprise Service Bus (ESB). The contractor shall integrate our existing telephony and nurse call systems voice/data path communications with the contractor installed ESB and the 802.11 FIPS 140-2 compliant wireless communications system. The system as installed shall support Health Level-7 (HL7) alerting from the existing telephony assets to the wireless communications handsets and pass the following alerts from HL7 enabled medical devices Fall Alarm, Patient Telemetry, Patient Vitals and Stat Prescription Orders. The contractor shall provide hardware and software support during one year prototype phase. It is anticipated the VA will award a twelve-month Firm-Fixed-Price contract for this effort. This is a market survey to identify all parties interested in taking part in this entire effort as a prime contractor. Solicitation Number VA118-10-RP-0044 has been assigned to this Market Research/Sources Sought Notice and does not constitute a solicitation for bids/proposals. The Government does not intend to pay for any information provided under this announcement. Interested sources may identify, in writing, their interest and capability to respond to this requirement.
