- The US Army Corps of Engineers, Walla Walla District is seeking HUBZone or Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned small business concerns for a construction project entitled, Mill Creek Haul and East Service Roads Rehabilitation. This will be a firm-fixed-price contract. Construction magnitude is between $250,000 and $500,000. The work on the East Service Road must be completed no later than May 28th, 2010. All other work must be completed no later than 120 calendar days after receipt of notice to proceed. A bid bond of 20% will be required. 100% performance and payment bonds will be required. This work is in two areas at the Mill Creek Dam and Reservoir, Walla Walla County, Washington. The work in the first area is to grade and gravel a dirt access road, approximately 10 feet wide, and approximately 2 miles long, and will include installation of culverts in the low areas of the road. The second work area consists of rehabilitating a levee haul road. This work is to widen and cover the top of the levee haul road with gravel approximately 14 feet wide, 6 inches deep, and up to approximately 2,000 feet in length and includes two areas that need expanded to allow for equipment turn around: one on the top of the levee, the other at a lower elevation on the river side. This sources-sought announcement is a tool to identify HUBZone or Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned small business concerns with the capability to accomplish the work. Only these firms who respond to this announcement by submitting a statement of their current or past technical experience (what the firm has done) and current or past performance (how well the firm did it) similar to or the same as the requirements stated above, will be used in the determination whether to set aside this requirement. Include bonding capacity and a statement indicating your business is a Service Disable Veteran Owned small business concern to Jani Long, Contract Specialist, 201 North 3rd Avenue, Walla Walla, Washington 99362 or email responses to jani.c.long@usace.army.mil.
