- Pre-Soliciation Conference RECOVERY - PROJECT 102438. Navigation Improvements, Akutan Alaska This project will be funded through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009. The Pre-Solicitation Conference will be held at the following location. Denali Commission 510 L St Anchorage, AK 99501-1956 (907) 271-1414 The meeting time is 9:00a.m. until 11:00a.m. on November 30,2009. The purpose of the conference is to allow interested offerors to provide comments on the solicitation. The draft solicitation including plans and specifications will be made available on this site on or about November 20, 2009. Note: This project was previously solicited under W911KB-09-R-0038 Description of Work: The work includes construction of breakwaters, an entrance channel and mooring basin. Work includes: obtaining, delivering, and placing about 22,700CY of Core Rock, 11,800CY of "B" Rock and 20,000CY of "A" rock for the breakwaters; excavating/dredging 960,000CY of material for the entrance channel and mooring basin; stockpiling on site 960,000CY of material including stabilizing, top soil and seeding; and obtaining, delivering and placing 10,000CY of filter rock and 15,700CY of rip rap on the mooring basin side slopes. There is no government furnished rock source for this project. The contractor is to furnish all labor, equipment, supplies, materials, supervision and other items necessary to accomplish the work.
