- Description
- This request for proposal (RFP) outlines VISN 6s requirements for the Contractor to furnish and install an Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Clinical Information Systems (CIS). VISN 6 currently has no (0) existing CIS. At all VISN sites, a combination of traditional paper charting and VistA is being used to manage the ICU and surgery patients. All sites extensively and predominantly utilize Computerized Patient Record System (CPRS) and VHA Barcode Medication Administration System (BCMA) for all health care documentation. Other software for the care of our patients includes VistA Imaging, Clinical Note Templates, and Health Promotion. Other CPRS- VistA programs are likely to be developed in the future and therefore the complete management system to be installed herein must have the flexibility to adapt to the changing needs of the VISN. Monitored vital sign and other electronic monitored information will be transferred automatically to the CIS flowsheet and displayed on a timeline correlated with all provided therapies. Device drivers to all VA medical devices for patient use must be capable of accepting all data, measured and calculated. It is imperative that the new CIS, and the CPRS, BCMA and all other systems co-exist as seamlessly as possible on the same workstation. VISN 6 is procuring this ICU CIS license and associated interface licenses for its clinical staff (nurses, physicians, respiratory therapists, etc.) to assist them in providing clinical care to patients by acquiring real time data from physiologic monitors, infusion pumps, ventilators and other equipment used to monitor and treat patients in the critical care setting. The CIS will be used in critical care areas, including MICU, SICU, ER, PACU. This contract is for a perpetual, non-exclusive, non-transferrable license for an unlimited number of concurrent users in a networked environment at the identified sites.
