- Description
- Strategic Incubation Initiative - Development of a Point of Care Support of Clinical Decision Making and Just-In-Time Provider Education System - Sources Sought Letter THIS IS NOT A SOLICITATION ANNOUNCEMENT. THIS IS A SOURCES SOUGHT ANNOUNCEMENT ONLY. THE PURPOSE OF THIS ANNOUNCEMENT IS FOR MARKET RESEARCH PURPOSES ONLY. RESPONSES TO THIS ANNOUNCEMENT WILL BE USED BY THE GOVERNMENT TO MAKE APPROPRIATE ACQUISITION DECISIONS. A SUBSEQUENT SOLICITATION ANNOUNCEMENT MAY FOLLOW. RESPONSES TO THIS ANNOUNCEMENT WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED AS AN ADEQUATE RESPONSE TO ANY FUTURE ANNOUNCEMENT. The United States Government, Veterans Health Administration (VHA), Office of Health Information (OHI), seeks sources for the development of a Point of Care Support of Clinical Decision Making and Just-In-Time Provider Education System in collaboration with the VHA's Innovations program. This acquisition focuses healthcare information, medical informatics, and healthcare IT (HIT) expertise specific to point of care decision support and assists the VHA to initiate collaborative IT solution development. The Point of Care Support of Clinical Decision Making and Just-In-Time Provider Education System shall implement an innovative solution derived as an outcome of the Strategic Innovation Challenge Design Workshops (not part of this effort). The VHA sponsored Workshop includes VHA managers, field innovators, expert support, VHA doctors, nurses and pharmacists with workflow, education and decision-making process expertise and background. The Workshop will focus fact-based healthcare information, medical informatics, and healthcare IT expertise during facilitated workshop sessions, using accelerated, concentrated, visioning and visualization, and critical thought function design methods resulting in tangible outputs, which can then be used by VHA to initiate collaborative IT development. The resultant data from the Workshop will be utilized under this effort to develop a field based, operationally useful prototype system. The goal of this system is to allow clinicians to receive clinical decision making support information and just-in-time training that is cued by patient care activities and made feasible by the ubiquity of computers in the clinical environment. The Point of Care Support of Clinical Decision Making and Just-In-Time Provider Education System shall enhance and standardize CPRS/VistA capabilities to support clinical decision making and provider education. It shall integrate existing Electronic Health Records (EHR) and the electronic clinical practice environment referred to in the VA as CPRS or the Vista database. It is requested that any interested party submit the information required below via email to the POC listed at this bottom of this announcement. Interested contractors shall provide the following: "Company Name; "Company Address; "Point of contact name; "Telephone number; "Email address; "Company's business size, including applicable North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code(s); and "Brief capabilities statement not exceeding 2 pages.
